  1. Description: A spiritual montage project.
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): For this project I used Photoshop to blend two pictures together and to make them look like one flowing image.  I had to find the two images I used by going on google. I then started to play with the sizes of the two images and created the design. Then I added in the text to the project. The next step was adding in the texture filter.
  3. Message: We are all children of God.
  4. Audience: Everyone with a focus on LDS families.
  5. Top Thing Learned: It is way easier to blend similar backgrounds and your choice of images in important with something like this.
  6. Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied: Concrete texture applied on the background image of the child.

Project 3 Photodesign


  1. Description: A photo based flier to show skills in Adobe Photoshop with editing and adding to pictures.
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles): For this project I started out by taking about 15 pictures to make sure I had a good quality one. I then made a rough draft in Adobe Photoshop and added in some repetition and the color scheme. I later took another picture and worked on bring out the picture more with some design elements.
  3. Message: Febreze would be a great partner to Lightning Mcqueen.
  4. Audience: Parents with young children and Disney lovers.
  5. Top Thing Learned: I learned with this assignments that you need to use the image you took more. Bring out your subjects and have fun.
  6. Color scheme and color names: Triadic scheme with Red, Yellow and Blue.

I learned with this project that I can actually like photography. I was not struggling with it like before. I think part of it was the fact that I planned out what I was going to shoot.

I took my pictures in Saint Anthony Idaho. All of the pictures except for the inside lighting, were taken outside. I used a place in town that is set up for pictures. I loved the time outside and the ability that we have to enjoy great things like this.

Project 2 Event Ad

  1. Description: A full-bleed event add To promote a charitable event.
  2. Process: For this flier I only used Microsoft Word. I started with a few sketches. I then scanned an image in on my home scanner and placed it onto the flier. I then placed two rectangles in the back to give the colors. I then added my title and body copy. I then went back in and added the other two rectangles to give the intersecting colors. I am pleased with what I was able to do with Microsoft Word.
  3. Message: A great fundraiser for a great cause to try and combat depression. I wanted my audience to see that there was a fun way to support this.
  4. Audience: College students and younger couples in the community.
  5. Color scheme and color names: I used a complementary color scheme with Blue and Orange
  6. Top Thing Learned: With this project the top thing that I learned was the use of contrasting types in the title to help draw attention to your ideas.

  9. Scanned images used, sources, original sizes, location of scanner used: This image was scanned from the Spring Performance Arts 2016 catalog. The original size of the image I scanned was 10 3/4″ by 8 1/4″. I used my own personal scanner at home.

Project 1 Flier


  1. Description: A flier for a Graduation Leadership Conference.
  2. Process: To create this flier I stated out by making some rough drafts. From there I took one of the designs and started creating it in Adobe InDesign. I used the rule of thirds with the three black diamonds, as well as to help bring out the title. I also wanted to make sure that there was enough white space to help not clutter the design and message. I used an image and logo that was provided to me.
  3. Message: I want to provide graduating students with the knowledge of this Conference.
  4. Audience: Graduating students  ages 21-33
  5. Top Thing Learned: With this project I learned the importance of grouping the text together to unify it.
